Resolved Question: natural remedy for sciatica / back pain?

my husband was recently diagnosed with scatica. his doctor told him there is no cure — there is surgery, but its 50/50 on relief. if you’re unfamiliar with scatica click this link (http://www.back.com/symptoms-sciatica.html) …i try to stay organic, pure and natural whenever possible — i have my own beliefs on the americanized medical ‘world’. does anyone know of home remedies, natural medicines, etc?
so my husband just got to the urgent care near his work due to the horrid pain he’s got in his back right now. he says its worse than his leg pain and he even used a heat pack this morning, we’ve bought a new mattress pad (like laying on clouds) etc… so we’ll see!

Voting Question: My 17 year old son has chronic low back pain. Any ideas on what we can do?

He has been in pain going on 3 years now. We’ve been to 2 different chiropractors. Natural pain management (biofeedback, acupuncture, massage), Neck and back pain clinics. I’ve even taken him to a back specialist and the only thing they tell us to do is exercise and build muscle. We’ve done that, with only slight relief. Please help. He is getting very depressed with this.

Resolved Question: Anyone know this type of arthritis?

I was diagnosed with arthritis about a year and a half ago by a chiropractor, but he didn’t tell me what type of arthritis I have. It is in my back and neck, specifically T 4-6 and I can’t remember exactly where in my back. Because my husband has been out of work due to injury and he was carrying the health insurance, I have been without treatment (other than OTC meds) for the last 18 months. I’m trying to research homeopathic and natural treatments, but until I know what type of arthritis I have, I’m at a stand still. Does anyone else have arthritis in their back and neck and know what kind that is? I know I need to go to the rheumetologist as it is getting worse and worse, but I just can’t right now, there’s not stretch in my budget. I really need some relief! I was told it was caused by undiagnosed, untreated scoliosis and some because of hereditary issued (my maternal grandmother has Lupus and maternal great-grandmother had RA). I currently stretch when I can, my husband (trained paramedic) give me adjustments and I take BC Powder. I’m in my mid-20’s and am sick of the pain and fatigue and the numerous ways it is affecting/complicating my life…..any suggestions would be great!
I have had a set of comprehensive x-rays-done by the Chiropractor-It wasn’t a guess, he actually showed me the arthritis shadowing on the x-rays

Resolved Question: Natural pain relief for Osteochondritis Dessicans Lesions (OCD) of the Knee?

My husband has had OCD of the knee since he was 15. He is now 24 and has 6 surgery’s to correct this problem, one which included a cadavers bone graph. He is in a lot of pain and it has caused other problems such as hip displacia and herniated disc in his lower back. Again he is 24! We want to find him something that is natural to help with the pain. We have set up some new appointments with a new doctor so hopefully we can start to improve his condition.

Voting Question: This is WHY. But how do i stop?

*The person has strong feelings such as anger, fear or anxiety before an injuring event
*These feelings build, and the person has no way to express or address them directly
*The person feels compelled to repeat self-harm, which is likely to increase in frequency and degree
*The person hides the tools used to injure, and covers up the evidence, often by wearing long sleeves
Cutting or other self-injury provides a sense of relief; a release of the mounting tension

*A feeling of guilt and shame usually follows the event
*The feelings of shame paradoxically lead to continued self-injurious behavior
*When a person injures themselves endorphins are released in the body and function as natural pain killers
*The behavior may become addictive because the person learns to associate the act of self-injury
with the positive feelings they get when endorphins are released in their system

Its an addiction!
Not a choice!!! If i had a choice or ’self control’ i wouldnt.
i cant stop help?!
